the  office  of  Joseph  Stella  architects

  Our offices

are located in Bridgehampton, New York, and New York City.  We have had over forty years of experience in every phase of the design and
construction process, from aiding in the selection of the site or existing structure, to cost analysis of the proposed design, to design and        construction supervision.  Our design work, at the practical level, has resulted in unforeseen benefits for our clients, and at the esthetic level,        awards for design excellence.  We have the capability to handle large scale work through our association with larger offices.

      Architectural design
Over the years, we have successfully been involved in the design of

new buildings, landscapes, and imaginative reconfigurations of existing

      Landscape design
We have had a hands on relationship realizing our designs for both

urban and rural landscapes and have

won design awards, and been widely published.

Zoning, landmarks, building code & real

   estate consultation
We have had extensive involvement with the complex New York City

Zoning Resolution and Building Codes, and we can be depended upon

to arrive at apt and optimum design solutions, working within their myriad imposed limitations. Our creative and imaginative interpretations

of the NYC Zoning Resolution has been noted in the New York Times, "Mr. Stella came up with an ingenious solution."

 Building inspections
We have performed in excess of several hundred building inspections, most often in New York City, Westchester and Long Island for        purchasers of private residence apartments, and commercial structures.

     Condos and co-ops
We have had extensive experience with the condo and co-op creation process in New York State, having been active as developer, designer,        inspector, and  general contractor.  We are also experienced in the process of obtaining the individual  tax lot numbers required for new        condos.
